PALMDALE, CA (November 4, 2019) – On Sunday night in Palmdale, a driver suspected of DUI collided with a vehicle head-on, injuring five people. The November 3 incident occurred on 50th Street, close to Palmdale Boulevard.
The time was roughly 6:30 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Reports say a vehicle—described as an SUV—had been heading north on 50th Street. A vehicle—described as a Honda Civic—had been traveling south on the same street. People who witnessed the incident said the Honda had passed other cars illegally, moving into the lane of traffic that was traveling in the opposite direction.
Reports say that while trying to pass a vehicle, the Honda struck the SUV—described as a Jeep Cherokee—head on.
Responders arrived and transported two children who had been occupants of the Honda to a hospital by airlift, according to Hawkins.
