Vehicle Smashes into Tree in Oxnard at Cesar Chavez Drive, Killing One, Injuring Three
OXNARD, CA (January 28, 2021) – Early in the morning on Wednesday, a vehicle smashed into a tree in Oxnard, killing one person and injuring three others. The January 27 incident occurred in the area of Cesar Chavez Drive and Rose Avenue.
The time was roughly 7:40 a.m., according to authorities.
A vehicle, which has not been described, crashed into a tree, for reasons that are not known. The impact threw one person from the vehicle.
Responders arrived to help. One person died at the crash site. He was identified as 71 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Responders worked to free three people trapped in the wreckage. The patients were identified as a man 32 years old, who was the driver; a woman 21 years old; and a man 36 years old.
They are all residents of Oxnard, reports say. Their names have not been reported.
Two patients were transported by responders to the VCMC trauma center. One patient was transported to the Los Robles Medical Center trauma center.
The types of injuries suffered were described as critical. The current condition of the patients is not known.
Investigators are working to collect information to understand the cause of the crash.
