Semi Tractor-Trailer Collides with Bicycle in Oxnard, Killing Cyclist
OXNARD, CA (January 12, 2021) – In the afternoon on Saturday in Oxnard, a semi-tractor towing a 53-foot trailer collided with a bicycle. The bicyclist died in the January 9 crash, which occurred on Oxnard Boulevard, close to Wooley Road and to the north of it.
The time was roughly 3:43 p.m.
A vehicle–described as a Peterbilt semi-tractor towing a trailer–had turned from Wooley Road and was traveling on Oxnard Boulevard and heading north. According to reports, investigators said the vehicle hit the bicyclist.
Responders arrived to help. The person who had been riding the bicycle died at the crash site. He was identified as a resident of Oxnard, 75 years old. His name has not been reported.
The person driving the vehicle stopped and remained at the incident site. He cooperated with the investigation.
He was identified as a resident of Fresno, 21 years old . His name has not been reported.
