Motorcycle and Pickup Truck Collide on Las Posas Road Near Oxnard, Seriously Injuring Rider
OXNARD, CA (October 18, 2019) – On Thursday morning, a motorcycle and pickup truck collided near Oxnard, seriously injuring the rider. The October 17 incident occurred on Las Posas Road, near Hueneme Road and to the south of it, in the Oxnard Plain unincorporated area.
The time was roughly 7:00 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say the motorcyclist had been traveling on Las Posas Road and heading south. He moved into the lane of opposing traffic to pass slower vehicles, according to reports.
While passing in the lane of opposing traffic, the motorcyclist collided with a pickup truck that turned left into a driveway in front of him.
The rider crashed into the pickup truck on the driver’s side, and the impact threw him from the bike.
Responders arrived and transported the rider to the VCMC trauma center. The injuries he suffered were described as severe, and his current condition has not been reported.
The rider was identified as 43 years old and a resident of Camarillo. His name has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the pickup truck was identified as a man 42 years old and a resident of Camarillo. His name has not been reported. Reports say he was not hurt in the incident.
Investigators are continuing their work to gather information and details to understand the circumstances of the crash.
