Woman Identified as Pedestrian Killed on South Oxnard Boulevard in Oxnard
OXNARD, CA (September 26, 2019) – Linda Kimball was identified as the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle on Monday night in Oxnard. The September 23 incident occurred on South Oxnard Boulevard at the East Ash Street intersection.
The time was roughly 9:45 p.m., according to police.
Reports say Kimball had been crossing Oxnard Boulevard on foot, and walking within a crosswalk that is marked. A vehicle—described as a Toyota Sienna minivan—which had been heading north on Oxnard Boulevard, hit her.
Responders transported Kimball to the hospital. She died in the hospital. Kimball was 70 years old and a resident of Oxnard.
The person who had been driving the minivan was identified only as a man 54 years old and a resident of Oxnard. His name has not been reported. The driver stayed at the accident site and cooperated with the investigation.
Investigators are gathering information and details to understand what circumstances were involved in the incident.
