Two Motorcycles Collide in Orange County’s Modjeska Canyon, Killing Four
ORANGE COUNTY, CA (July 8, 2019) – Two motorcycles collided in the afternoon on Sunday near Orange County’s Modjeska Canyon, killing four people. The July 7 incident occurred near Modjeska Canyon Road and Santiago Canyon Road.
The time was roughly 4:35 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Reports say four people had been traveling on two motorcycles, with a driver and passenger on each vehicle. The two vehicles collided, and four victims died.
According to Florentino Olivera, who is an officer with the California Highway Patrol, the victims were identified as two women and two men, with each motorcycle having carried a woman and a man.
A person who witnessed the incident said one of the motorcycles attempted to pass a vehicle, which has not been described. The motorcycle that was passing collided head-on with another motorcycle. According to officials, the motorcycle that was trying to pass may have been speeding.
None of the victims have been identified, including their names, ages, and cities of residence. Authorities think the victims may have been in their thirties to forties.
Investigators are continuing their exploration of the facts and evidence related to the crash. No other details are available at this time.
