Oceanside, CA (November 21, 2023) – A devastating three-car accident on Highway 76 at Canyon Drive resulted in the loss of two lives, according to Oceanside police officers.

The multi-vehicle crash unfolded around 7:36 p.m. last Friday when, for reasons yet unknown, the driver of a northbound Mercedes sedan ran a red traffic light. The Mercedes was then broadsided by an eastbound U-Haul utility truck, leading to a cascading collision.
The impact caused at least one of the vehicles involved to crash into a Kia sedan situated in the left-turn lane of Highway 76 West.
Emergency personnel swiftly responded to the scene, discovering that both occupants of the Mercedes were deceased. Authorities are currently withholding their identities, pending notification of their families.
Fortunately, the other drivers involved in the collision reported only minor injuries.
