Woman Taking Gasoline to Her Vehicle Struck on Ramp of State Route 76 in Oceanside
OCEANSIDE, CA (October 15, 2019) – Early in the morning on Monday, a woman who was walking on a ramp of State Route 76 in Oceanside was struck by a vehicle and injured. The October 14 incident occurred on the ramp of SR-76 off of I-5.
The time was roughly 2:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say two women had been walking to return to their truck with gas, as the vehicle had run out. A vehicle—described as a Toyota Camry—went out of control on the ramp for reasons that are not known.
The two women attempted to avoid the swerving vehicle, but the Toyota struck one of them. The impact threw the woman into ice plants growing beside the road. The other woman was able to leap out of the way, reports say.
The Toyota overturned onto its side.
Responders transported the injured woman by airlift to a hospital. The types of injuries she suffered, and her current condition, are not known. Her identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.

Responders from the fire department worked to extricate the driver from the wrecked car. According to reports, the driver did not suffer serious injuries.
