Three-vehicle Crash on I-5 Near Oceanside Injures Two
OCEANSIDE, CA (December 14, 2020) – On Friday morning near Oceanside, three vehicles collided on I-5, injuring two people. The December 11 incident occurred on the northbound side of the freeway, near the Aliso Creek Rest Area and to the north of it.
The time was roughly a little before 8:30 a.m., according to Juan Escobar. Escobar is an officer with the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say three vehicles collided, but the manner and sequence in which the collision occurred has not been described. The types of vehicles have also not been described.
Responders transported one patient to the hospital by airlift. He was identified only as a man. The types of injuries he suffered, and current condition, are not known.
Responders transported a woman to the hospital by ambulance. The injuries she suffered, and her current condition, are not known.
The patients were identified only as in their late 50s to early 60s; the names and cities of residence of the two people have not been reported.
It is not known if they had been traveling in the same vehicle. None of the drivers involved in the crash have been identified.
Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened, and how it occurred.
