Six Injured in Multi-vehicle Collision on El Camino Real in Oceanside
OCEANSIDE, CA (March 2, 2020) – On Saturday night, three vehicles collided in Oceanside, injuring six people. The February 29 incident occurred where Fire Mountain Road and El Camino Real intersect.
The time was roughly 10:00 p.m., according to Jessamyn Specht. Specht is a battalion chief with the Oceanside Fire Department.
Reports say three vehicles collided, but the manner in which the crash happened, and the sequence of events that preceded the crash, have not been described. The vehicles have also not been described.
Responders transported six people to the hospital. Three of the injured people suffered injuries that were described as major. Three of the victims had injuries that were described as minor.
Responders transported one person by airlift to Scripps La Jolla Hospital for treatment. Responders took another victim to Palomar Medical Center.
Two people were transported to Scripps Encinitas Hospital and Tri-City Hospital; the victims had suffered injuries that were described as minor.
None of the victims have been identified, including name, age, gender, and city of residence. It is not known who the driver of each vehicle had been.
Investigators are working to understand the circumstances related to the crash.
