Driver Hits and Kills Pedestrian on Oceanside Boulevard in Oceanside
OCEANSIDE, CA (May 15, 2020) – On Wednesday night, a driver hit and killed a pedestrian in Oceanside. The May 13 incident occurred on Oceanside Boulevard close to College Boulevard.
The time was roughly 8:45 p.m., according to Rick Davis. Davis is a sergeant with Oceanside Police.
Reports say a woman had been walking across Oceanside Boulevard. A driver, who had been traveling east on the road, attempted to maneuver to avoid striking her, reports say. The vehicle hit the woman.
Responders arrived and transported the victim to a hospital. She was pronounced deceased in the hospital. The identity of the woman, including her name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle stayed at the incident site and cooperated with the investigation. He was identified as a man 22 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are working to gather details and information regarding the crash.
