Fiery Collision in Northridge Kills One Woman and Injures Two Men
NORTHRIDGE, CA (November 19, 2018) – A crash which caused a car to erupt in flames killed one woman and badly injured two men on Monday in Northridge. The early morning crash on November 19 occurred where Lassen Street and White Oak Avenue intersect.
The time was roughly a bit after 2:00 a.m.
According to David Delgado, who is a sergeant with the Los Angeles Police Department, the three victims had been in a Toyota sedan. The person who had been driving the car lost control of it, and smashed into a traffic pole.
Delgado said the car erupted in flames. A passenger was killed and she was burned beyond recognition. A person who lived close to the accident scene assisted in removing the driver and a second man from the crashed car.
Responders took both of the injured men to a hospital in the area. Their condition was described as severe, according to Delgado.
The names and ages of the victims have not yet been reported. Investigators think the car may have been going at a fast speed on Lassen Street before the crash occurred.
Investigators are examining the details of the accident.
