Woman, 65, Arrested in Fatal DUI Pedestrian Accident in Victorville
Victorville, CA (March 10, 2024) – A tragic DUI pedestrian accident claimed the life of 39-year-old Nicholas Slate on Kalin Ranch Drive near Golf Course Drive. The incident, reported by the California Highway Patrol, occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Sunday.
Nicholas Slate Killed, 65-year-old Cynthia Franklin Charged in DUI Pedestrian Crash on Kalin Ranch Drive near Golf Course Drive
According to authorities, 65-year-old Cynthia Franklin was driving her 2015 Chrysler under the influence, causing her vehicle to veer across the road and onto several properties. The Chrysler struck Nicholas Slate, who was walking on the north side of the roadway. Following the collision, Franklin’s vehicle continued west and collided with a concrete wall.
Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and transported Franklin to a hospital with severe injuries. She was later arrested on suspicion of DUI causing death. Unfortunately, Nicholas Slate, a resident of Victorville, succumbed to his injuries in the crash.
