NEEDLES, CA (July 29, 2018) – Dolores Garcia and Lavon Salabye died in an accident on Needles Highway Sunday morning. The crash occurred close to Aha Macav Parkway at roughly 9:00 a.m.
Multiple vehicles were involved in the collision, the California Highway Patrol says. Lavon Salabye, described as a 34 year old, was heading south in a 2018 Dodge Caravan. The report says he did not make a right-hand turn and hit three vehicles that were heading north.
A coroner who was called to the scene said that the person driving the third vehicle, Dolores Garcia, who was described as 48 years old, died at the scene of the accident. Salabye was also pronounced deceased.
Responders took other people who were injured in the accident to hospitals in the area.
California Highway Patrol is continuing their investigation into the details of the accident.
