National City Crash on I-805 Involving Big rig and Minivan Causes Damage
NATIONAL CITY, CA (January 26, 2021) – Early in the morning on Monday in National City, a crash on I-805 involving a big rig and minivan caused damage. The January 25 incident occurred in the northbound lanes of the freeway, near Plaza Boulevard and to the north of it.
The time was roughly a little after 4:50 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
According to reports, a person who witnessed the incident called for help, describing that a big rig hydroplaned and hit the divider in the center of the roadway. The big rig then struck a vehicle–described as a minivan.
The big rig came to a stop in a jacknife position; the trailer blocked two lanes. Reports say fuel was spilled in the incident.
Responders arrived to help. According to reports, no one was hurt in the crash.
The driver of each vehicle has not been identified, including name, age, gender, and city of residence.
A hazardous materials crew also reported to the incident site to work on cleaning the fuel that was spilled.
Investigators are working on the incident.
