Multi-vehicle Collision Sends One Vehicle into House’s Backyard and Hot Tub in Thousand Oaks
THOUSAND OAKS, CA (December 21, 2018) – A collision involving multiple vehicles in Thousand Oaks sent one of the vehicles into the backyard and hot tub of a house. The accident occurred close to where Oak Brook Drive and East Avenida de los Arboles intersect.
The time was roughly 9:00 p.m.
According to reports, the vehicle—described as an SUV—crashed through a backyard wall and landed next to a swimming pool and on top of the hot tub.
According to officials with the Sheriff’s Department, the driver—identified as a man 70 years old—mistakenly stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal. Reports say the driver suffered injuries that were described as minor. Respondents took him to a local hospital. His name and city of residence have not yet been reported.
According to firefighters, two people who had been occupants of the vehicle at the time of the crash needed rescuing from the pool.
Reports say that a multi-vehicle accident preceded the incident with the SUV crashing in the hot tub, but no details have yet been reported on the prior crash.
