Fresno Pedestrian Killed Near Shaw and 1st Street Identified
FRESNO, CA (January 27, 2025) – Authorities have identified the pedestrian killed in a traffic accident on Shaw Avenue early Monday morning as 51-year-old Muhammad Akbar of Fresno.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the fatal incident occurred around 6:00 a.m. on January 27 near the intersection of Shaw Avenue and First Street. For reasons still under investigation, a vehicle struck Akbar in the area.
Muhammad Akbar Succumbed To His Injuries In A Nearby Hospital
Emergency responders transported Akbar to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Fresno police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Officials have not yet released further details but will provide updates as more information becomes available.
