Santa Maria Motorcyclist Killed in Four-vehicle Crash on Highway 1
SANTA MARIA, CA (October 11, 2021) – On Friday morning in Santa Maria, four vehicles collided, killing a motorcyclist. The October 8 crash occurred on Highway 1 close to where Brown Road intersects.
The time was a little before 8:30 a.m., according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Reports say four vehicles collided, but only one vehicle was described. The line of travel of each vehicle prior to crashing, and the sequence of the crash, have also not been described.
Responders from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and Santa Barbara County Sheriff arrived on scene to help.
The motorcycle crash killed the rider. The identity of the motorcyclist, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
None of the drivers of the vehicles involved in the crash have been identified. It is not known if any passengers were present.
Reports say the other patients suffered injuries that were described as minor.
Investigators are working to understand the cause of the crash, and the circumstances that may have contributed.
