Stephen Velador Jr. Dies in Collision on Highway 118 in Moorpark
MOORPARK, CA (January 29, 2019) – Stephen Velador, Jr. died in a crash in the evening on Sunday in Moorpark. The January 27 accident occurred on Highway 118 in the westbound lanes—also known as Los Angeles Avenue—close to Gabbert Road.
The time was roughly 9:12 p.m.
Velador—identified as a 30-year-old resident of Moorpark—died when his vehicle struck the rear of a big rig. Reports say that Velador had been in a small sedan, and hit the back of a truck and trailer that was waiting at a red light at the intersection.
The car Velador had been traveling in was stuck underneath the semi. Respondents arrived and pronounced him deceased at the accident scene.
Reports say that the person who had been driving the semi was not hurt in the collision. The person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence have not yet been reported. The owner of the big rig has not been reported, nor the type of damage the truck had in the crash.
