Monrovia Hit-and-run Crash Damages House on South Mountain Avenue
MONROVIA, CA (January 7, 2021) – Early in the morning on Thursday in Monrovia, a house was damaged when a driver smashed into it. The driver fled the scene of the January 7 hit-and-run crash, which occurred on South Mountain Avenue in the 100 block.
The time was roughly 1:00 a.m., according to Monrovia Police.
A vehicle–described as a Honda Civic, blue in color–had been heading on Foothill Boulevard toward the Mountain Avenue intersection. For reasons that are not known, the vehicle went out of the driver’s control while making a turn to Mountain Avenue.
The Honda struck the curb beside the road, and pummeled into the house. A wall in the front of the structure was breached, and the Honda ended up inside.
The person driving the vehicle fled the crash site. Reports say no one was hurt inside the house.
The extent of damage to the house has not been reported. The identities of the owners have also not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the suspect driver, who has not been described. They are continuing to gather information.
