Model S P90D: One of the Fastest Electric Cars on the Market

Posted on November 19, 2015 | Written By: iadminlaw

The P90D replaces the Model S P85D as one of the fastest electric cars on the market. The 85 kilowatt battery has been substituted by a 90 kilowatt battery. The price is higher by $10,000.00 but with that comes an Inconel battery pack that provides for an incre of flow rate from 1,300 1,500 amps and a revised fuse with its own electronics and a small built in lithium ion battery.

The Model S is able to reach 60 mph in2.6 seconds. The Model S is able to beat many cars with this type of acceleration including the Nissan GT-R to the Lamborghini Aventador and Bugatti Veyron. Two cars can beat the Model S: the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFarri. The McLaren P1 ties it.

The Model S can do a quarter mile in 10.9 seconds, accelerating to 122.7 mph. The car is one of the fasted cars ever tested. It beats the 707-hp Dodge Charrge SRT Hellcat and the Audi RS 7. The P90D beats the Porsche 911 Turbo S and the Nissan GT-R NISMO on the quarter mile.

There is a good feel to the steering, though the car is a heavy car, weighing in at 731 lbs of torque. The car can reach 100 mph in under 7 seconds. The Model S provides a luxury ride.

One of the few setbacks of the Model S may be that it has 268 miles of claimed range although the EPA rates it at 253 miles

The car can run a quarter mile in 10.9 seconds directly out of the showroom. The car runs around $130,000.00.
