Crash in Mission Hills Involving Police Pursuit of Suspected DUI Driver Kills One Person
MISSION HILLS, CA (October 21, 2019) – Early in the morning on Sunday, a crash in Mission Hills involving police pursuit killed one person. The October 20 incident occurred near Arleta Avenue and Chatsworth Street.
The time was roughly 4:00 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Reports say police were pursuing a driver suspected of DUI. The vehicle smashed into a tree, reports say, but it is not clear if the vehicle that crashed was the one the suspect had been driving. It is also unclear if the person who was killed was the suspected DUI driver.
Responders transported the driver to the hospital. The driver’s condition was described as serious. The identity of the driver, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
It is not known if anyone else had been an occupant of the vehicle when it crashed.
