Man Killed When Struck By Minivan That Crashed off of 101 Freeway in Hollywood
HOLLYWOOD, CA (October 28, 2021) – Early in the morning on Thursday in Hollywood, a minivan crashed off of the 101 Freeway, and struck and killed a man. The October 28 crash occurred where the offramp for Vine Street is located.
The time was roughly 4:00 a.m., authorities said.
According to reports, the minivan crashed from the offramp of the freeway, smashed through a fence beside the offramp, and landed in a home’s yard.
The minivan struck and killed a man. Reports say it is not clear where the victim had been when he was hit. It is not known if if was walking beside the offramp, or if he was in the yard.
Responders arrived to help, but the pedestrian died at the crash site. His identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
It is not known from reports if the driver was hurt in the crash. The identity of the driver has also not been reported.
No details have been reported on the home where the crash occurred, and whether there was damage to it.
Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened, and why the vehicle went out of the driver’s control.
