Madera 5-Vehicle Crash on Hwy 41 Involves Semi Truck

4 Injured in Crash near Madera on Hwy 41
MADERA, CA (August 27, 2024) — Four people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 41 Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on August 27 near Avenue 12. CHP reports that a semi-truck hauling double trailers failed to stop for traffic and rear-ended a Honda Accord, triggering a chain reaction crash involving multiple vehicles.
A Total Chain Reaction of Events Caused Many Cars To Be Involved In The Crash
The collision caused the Honda to strike a Volkswagen, which was then pushed into a Nissan. The Nissan collided with a Chevy truck, which subsequently hit a Lexus. The drivers involved in the crash included a 39-year-old Fresno woman, a 30-year-old Italian visitor, a 72-year-old Fresno man, and a 20-year-old Fresno man.
Emergency services transported four people to a nearby hospital with minor to moderate injuries. Among them, the 21-year-old driver of the Honda Accord sustained a possible concussion.
Semi Truck Driver Remained At The Scene And Cooperated
The 57-year-old driver of the semi-truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation by CHP.
Authorities urge drivers to maintain safe speeds, avoid distractions, and practice defensive driving techniques to prevent similar incidents. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
