Hit-and-run Crash Kills Dirt Bike Rider in Hyde Park Area of Los Angeles, CA
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 17, 2022) – On Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles, a hit-and-run crash in the Hyde Park area killed a man who was riding a dirt bike. The October 16 crash occurred on 54th Street.
The time was roughly 3:00 p.m., Los Angeles Police said.
The rider was traveling on a dirt bike behind a car, reports say. Police allege the car’s driver made a turn that was unsafe, and the dirt bike struck the rear end of the car.
The force of the crash threw the rider from the dirt bike.
The driver of the car fled the crash site without helping the victim, reports say.
Responders transported the victim to the hospital. He was pronounced deceased in the hospital.
He was identified only as a resident of Los Angeles, 20 years old. His name has not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the car involved in the crash, and the hit-and-run driver, who has not been described.
