Two Demonstrators Injured in Hollywood When Hit-and-run Driver Goes Through Crowd
LOS ANGELES, CA (June 16, 2020) – On Sunday, two demonstrators were injured when a person drove a vehicle through a crowd in Hollywood. The June 14 incident occurred where Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue intersect.
Reports say the intersection had become blocked by a group of demonstrators. Earlier in the day, thousands of people had gathered for “All Black Lives Matter”, and also LGBTQ rights demonstrations.
According to reports, a witness–who was identified as Gianella Ghiglino–said a person driving the vehicle appeared upset. The driver was suspected of intentionally driving into the crowd of people.
Reports say video was recorded that captured the hit-and-run incident. The vehicle involved in the crash was described as a BMW, white in color.
The vehicle hit two people, who suffered injuries that were described as minor, according to Los Angeles Police. The identities of the victims, including their names, ages, gender, and cities of residence, have not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved, and the driver. They are collecting details, information, and evidence.
