Police Pursuit of Alleged Stolen Vehicle Ends in Los Feliz Crash
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 13, 2019) – Police pursuit of an alleged stolen vehicle ended in a crash in Los Angeles on Sunday. The May 12 incident occurred close to where Berendo Street and Los Feliz Boulevard intersect in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Reports say police began pursuing a vehicle at roughly 3:00 p.m. in the area of the Olympic Division of the Los Angeles Police Department. Authorities say the vehicle was suspected to have been stolen. During the chase, the vehicle—described as a Cadillac Escalade—smashed into a Prius that was parked on the street, and a fire hydrant.
Officers held two people at the conclusion of the chase. It is not known if anyone was hurt in the incident. The identities of the two people who were detained by police have not been reported, including their names, ages, gender, and cities of residence.
In addition to the parked vehicle that was damaged by the collision, another vehicle that had been parked on the street had significant damage from water pouring from the fire hydrant, reports say. The identities of the owners of the parked vehicles have not been reported.
