Pedestrian Seriously Injured by Hit-and-run Driver in Los Angeles’ Florence Area
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 6, 2021) – On Sunday night in the neighborhood of Florence in Los Angeles, a pedestrian was struck and seriously injured. The January 3 hit-and-run crash occurred on 61st Street at Broadway.
The time was roughly 10:00 p.m., according to Los Angeles Police.
The police department made public a video that captured the incident. The video recorded a man walking across the road in a crosswalk, on a signal that said “don’t walk,” according to authorities. He is struck by a vehicle, described as a sedan with four doors, beige in color.
The vehicle stops briefly, and then leaves the scene. People who witnessed the incident can be heard on the recording, reports say.
Responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department transported the victim to a hospital. He suffered injuries that were described as severe.
His current condition is not known. His identity has not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the vehicle, and the suspect driver. She was described as roughly 30 to 40 years of age. A passenger, described as male who may be roughly the same age, was with her at the time of the crash, according to police.
