Pedestrian Killed in South L.A. Crash in Westmont; Hit-and-run Driver Sought
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 6, 2021) – Early in the morning on Monday, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in South Los Angeles. The January 4 incident occurred on West 94th Street in Westmount, an unincorporated area.
The time was roughly 5:18 a.m., California Highway Patrol said.
A vehicle–described as a midsize SUV, light in color–had been heading west on West 94th Street. In an area near Budlong Avenue and to the west of it, the vehicle struck a pedestrian. The driver did not stop to help the person, but fled the crash site.
The victim died from the injuries. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the vehicle, and the suspect driver, who has not been described. If anyone has information about the crash, the person can call Investigator Komoda or Investigator Parilla. The number is 310-642-3939.
