Multi-vehicle Crash on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Los Angeles Causes Injuries

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 4, 2020) – On Wednesday night, multiple vehicles collided in the South-Central area of Los Angeles, injuring eight people. The June 3 incident occurred on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard close to Main Street.

The time was roughly a little before 10:00 p.m., Brian Humphrey said. Humphrey is a spokesperson with the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Reports say multiple vehicles collided, described as a tow truck, a sedan, and a Los Angeles Police Department vehicle. The manner in which the collision occurred has not been described.

Responders arrived and found eight people were injured in the crash. Two people–an officer, and another person who has not been identified as a civilian or an officer–suffered injuries that were described as critical.

The identities of the two victims in critical condition have not been reported, including their names, ages, and gender. According to reports, firefighters had to work to free the officer who was trapped in wreckage.

Six other victims were hurt in the crash, with their injuries being described as minor. The identities of the victims have not been reported.

It is not known where each victim had been at the time of the crash, whether inside one of the vehicles or standing outside. No details have been reported on the sequence of events related to the crash, nor of the factors and circumstances pertaining to it.

Investigators are working to understand the incident by collecting information and details.
