Multi-vehicle Crash on 405 Freeway Near Normandie Ave. in Los Angeles Kills One Person

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 25, 2020) – Multiple vehicles collided early in the morning on Thursday on the 405 Freeway in Los Angeles, killing one person. The September 24 incident occurred in the lanes that head south in the area of Harbor Gateway, close to Normandie Avenue.

The time was roughly a little after 3:30 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

Three vehicles, and possibly more, are reported to have been involved in the collision. One vehicle overturned and came to a stop upside down. One of the vehicle that crashed was described as a pickup truck The other vehicles have not been described.

No details have been reported on the sequence of events related to the crash. None of the drivers have been identified, and it is not known if there were passengers in any of the vehicles.

One person died in the collision. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.

Reports do not say if anyone else was hurt in the crash. Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened.
