Hit-and-run Driver Strikes and Kills Bicyclist in South Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 25, 2019) – A bicyclist was killed by a hit-and-run driver in the evening on Saturday in South Los Angeles. The February 23 accident occurred on Manchester Avenue close to Gramercy Place.
The time was roughly a bit after 9:00 p.m.
According to police, the bicyclist had been heading east on W. Manchester Avenue and a vehicle hit him as he was traveling in the 1930 block, close to where the road meets Gramercy Place. The victim was identified as a man. Police said he looked like he was in his late twenties. No details have yet been reported on the victim’s name, or his city of residence.
Respondents arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the accident scene, the Los Angeles Police Department said. According to Carol Mitchell, who is an officer with the police department, officials do not yet know what the vehicle or the hit-and-run driver look like.
Investigators are examining the evidence and information to find out who the driver was, and to locate the vehicle involved in the crash.
