Hit-and-run Driver Kills Man Walking Across Florence Avenue in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (December 2, 2019) – A man who was walking across Florence Avenue in South Los Angeles early in the morning on Thanksgiving Day was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver. The November 28 incident occurred in the 2000 block, close to an area where a strip mall is located, in the neighborhood of Chesterfield Square.
The time was roughly 6:10 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Reports say a vehicle—described as a four-door sedan, black in color—had been traveling westbound on Florence Avenue, and in an area near Gramercy Place, it hit the man. The driver did not stop to help the victim, but fled the scene.
Responders arrived and transported the victim to the hospital. He died from the injuries he suffered. The identity of the victim, including his name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
