South Los Angeles Crash at South Broadway and West 43rd Street Kills Woman
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 5, 2021) – Early in the morning on Friday in South Los Angeles, a woman was killed when a vehicle crashed into the back end of her stopped car. The March 5 incident occurred where West 43rd Street and South Broadway intersect.
The time was roughly 12:50 a.m., according to Jake Bushey. Bushey is a lieutenant with Los Angeles Police.
According to authorities, a vehicle–which has not been described–was stopped on Broadway, and another vehicle–described as a pickup truck–crashed into its back end.
The impact sent each of the vehicles involved in the crash to crash against vehicles that were parked on the street. The parked vehicles were not occupied.
Responders arrived and pronounced the woman who had been inside the vehicle that was stopped deceased at the crash site. She was identified only as 43 years hold. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
Responders transported the person who had been driving the pickup truck to a hospital. The driver’s condition was described as critical. The identity of the person has not been reported.
The owners of the parked vehicles that were struck have not been identified.
Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened, and they are currently in the process of collecting information for that effort.
