Coolkicks Shoe Store in Los Angeles Rammed by SUV, Possibly on Purpose
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 1, 2020) – On Monday night, a shoe store called Coolkicks in the neighborhood of Fairfax in Los Angeles was struck by a vehicle. The August 31 crash, which may have been on purpose, occurred on Melrose Avenue in the 7500 block.
The time was roughly a little before 9:00 p.m., according to Mike Lopez. Lopez is an officer with Los Angeles Police.
A vehicle–described as an SUV–was captured on video, and appears to head into the Coolkicks store. Then the vehicle travels in reverse.
Officers found the driver and arrested him, according to Lopez. The suspected hit-and-run driver was wanted for a suspected carjacking incident, which occurred in Venice near where Rose Avenue and Lincoln Boulevard intersect. The suspected carjacking happened on Sunday.
The suspected driver has not been identified in reports, including name, age, gender, and city of residence.
Investigators are collecting information and details to understand why the driver allegedly drove into the Coolkicks store in what may have been an intentional crash.
Neither the owner of the business, nor the owner of the building where Coolkicks is located has been identified in reports.
