Man Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver in Downtown Los Angeles; Suspect Sought
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 27, 2021) – Anibal Macias Jr. was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday morning. The January 23 incident occurred in the vicinity of 22nd Street and Alameda Street.
The time was roughly 4:30 a.m., according to Los Angeles Police.
Macias Jr. had been walking on the sidewalk, according to investigators, and a vehicle–which has not been described–struck him and dragged him to the street.
Responders arrived to help, but Macias Jr. died at the incident site. He was 33 years old.
The person driving the vehicle did not stop to help Macias Jr., but fled the crash site. The suspect has not been described.
