Vehicle Crashes in Los Alamitos During Police Pursuit; Bystander Struck and Killed

LOS ALAMITOS, CA (March 13, 2020) – On Thursday in Los Alamitos, a vehicle that was being pursued by police crashed, killing a bystander. The March 12 incident occurred on Katella Avenue in the 4000 block.

Reports say officers began pursuing a vehicle—which has not been described—in the City of Cypress, according to Los Alamitos Police. The reason for the pursuit has not been reported.

During the pursuit, the vehicle crashed on Katella Avenue, striking a building. According to reports, a bystander was hit and died. It is not clear where the bystander was when the person was struck, whether inside the building, or outside.
