Teenage Girl Killed in Stolen Vehicle Pursuit in Long Beach
Long Beach, CA (March 8, 2024) – A devastating incident unfolded in Long Beach on March 8, resulting in the death of a 15-year-old girl during a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the stolen vehicle was traveling westbound on East 7th Street at a high speed when it collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Orange Avenue, shortly after 1:30 a.m. The stolen vehicle then lost control and crashed into five parked vehicles.
Driver of Vehicle In Crash Fled On Foot and An Investigation Is Still Going
Following the crash, the driver of the stolen vehicle fled the scene on foot.
Emergency responders swiftly transported the 15-year-old female passenger from the stolen vehicle to a hospital with multiple life-threatening injuries.
Tragically, on March 13, the passenger succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
The driver of the other vehicle involved sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
As of now, information regarding the suspect and any potential arrests has not been released. An active investigation into the incident is ongoing as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to the crash.
