Long Beach, CA (June 11, 2018) – According to the local police officers, a man in a wheelchair was struck by a driver at an intersection. The accident happened Sunday night, June 11th, a few minutes before midnight. A driver was heading westbound on 7th street, east of Bellflower Boulevard in a busy intersection when the driver fatally struck the pedestrian in the wheelchair.
Apparently the man in the wheelchair was heading to the U.S. Veterans Administration Medical Center before he was fatally struck by the driver. Police also believe that the man was not using the crosswalk when the crash occurred. The driver stayed at the scene to cooperate with the Police officials when they arrived at the crash site. No information of the pedestrian’s or driver’s identity has been released. Police are investigating the accident to gather more information about the crash.
