Hit-and-run Driver Kills Pedestrian on Pacific Avenue in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, CA (November 27, 2020) – On Thursday night in Long Beach, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver. The November 26 incident occurred on Pacific Avenue in the 1900 block.
The time was roughly a little before 9:30 p.m., according to Lt. Titus. Titus is with Long Beach Police.
People who witnessed the crash flagged down a police officer, reports say. They told authorities that the pedestrian had been going across the street when a vehicle struck her.
Witnesses are reported to have said that the vehicle was going at a fast speed, heading south on Pacific Avenue. The person driving the vehicle did not stop to help the victim, but fled the site.
Responders pronounced the victim deceased at the crash scene. Her name, age, and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved in the crash, and the suspect driver. Neither has been described.
Investigators are working on collecting information and details related to the crash.
