Man Identified as Person Killed in Crash on Highway 1 Near Lompoc
LOMPOC, CA (July 30, 2019) – Patrick Neisinger was identified by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office as the person who died in a head-on collision on Friday on Highway 1 near Lompoc. The July 26 incident occurred near Constellation Road and to the north of it, close to Vandenberg Village.
The time was roughly 11:09 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say two vehicles collided after one of the vehicles—which had been traveling south—attempted to pass another vehicle by using the center median. On the median—which was described as grass in reports—the vehicle attempting to pass went out of control. It went into the lane of opposing traffic and collided head-on with a vehicle described as an SUV.
According to reports, Neisinger was killed in the crash. He was 50 years old and a resident of Lompoc.
Another person was reported to have been seriously injured, but the identity of the victim has not been reported. The person’s current condition is not known.
Investigators are continuing their work to gather information, facts, details, and evidence regarding the incident. At this time, no other details have been reported.
