Multi-vehicle Crash on Highway 1 Near Lompoc Injures Four People
LOMPOC, CA (June 5, 2020) – On Thursday afternoon, a multi-vehicle crash near Lompoc on Highway 1 injured four people. The June 4 incident occurred on the northbound side of the roadway, near Santa Lucia Canyon Road and close to Vandenberg Air Force Base.
The time was roughly a little before 3:15 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Reports say three vehicles collided, but the manner in which the collision occurred has not been described. The types of vehicles have also not been described.
Responders arrived and found four people had been hurt in the crash. One person was trapped in wreckage and responders had to work to free the person.
The types of injuries the people suffered, and their current condition, are not known from reports. None of the victims have been identified, including names, ages, gender, and cities of residence. Reports do not yet say who the driver of each vehicle had been at the time of the crash.
Investigators are working to understand the sequence of events that occurred, and the circumstances and factors that contributed to the crash. They are in the process of collecting details and information.
