Carson Woman Struck and Killed Crossing 91 Freeway East of Main Street
CARSON, CA (November 9, 2024) – A woman identified as 35-year-old Lizbeth Torres was struck and killed by a vehicle on the 91 Freeway in Carson on the evening of November 9. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident occurred around 6:39 p.m., just east of Main Street.
It Is Unclear Why Lizbeth Torres Was Trying To Cross A Busy Freeway
Authorities reported that Torres attempted to cross the eastbound lanes of the freeway when she was hit by an oncoming vehicle. She suffered multiple blunt-force injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
It remains unclear whether the driver involved stayed at the scene following the crash, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing as officials work to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
