Car Hits and Injures Roller Blader in Linda Vista
LINDA VISTA, CA (September 28, 2018) – A car hit and injured a roller blader in Linda Vista on Thursday night. The accident occurred at Linda Vista Road and Genesee Avenue, Michael Tansey said. Tansey is a sergeant with the San Diego Police.
The accident occurred at roughly 9:45 p.m.
According to reports, the roller blader—identified as 20-year-old man—was traveling on the sidewalk of Linda Vista Road and heading south. He began to cross the road of Genesee Avenue. Tansey said the man was crossing against the red light and the red stop signal for pedestrians.
When the man was in the intersection, a vehicle—described as a 2005 Chrysler 300—that had been traveling west on Genesee struck him.
The person who had been driving the Chrysler—identified as a man 25 years old—stopped and stayed at the accident scene, according to Tansey. The driver was not injured.
Responders took the roller blader to the hospital. The injuries he suffered included a broken femur, and other injuries that were described as not life threatening.
Investigators are examining the details of the incident.
