Lexus Car Lands in a La Puente Pool

Los Angeles, CA – Residents of a La Puente home were disturbed by a loud noise Sunday morning. They discovered that a Lexus sedan had crashed through a wall and landed into their pool.
The Lexus GS430 was approaching the T-intersection of Orange Avenue at about 5:20 a.m. when the driver, Modesto Cabral, 40-year-of-age, continued driving the vehicle over the west concrete sidewalk and crashed it into the cinder block concrete wall. The vehicle then continued to make its way into the property where it splashed and was completely submerging into the pool.
The loud crash and splash awoke the residents of the home according to Mercury News. To their surprise, they found a car completely submerged in their pool and a man who was dripping wet making his way out.
The residents of the home joked about the incident. Vehicles had crashed into the wall of their home various times before but had never made it all the way into the pool.
Cabral was able to exit the submerged vehicle through the right front window of his sedan after the car crash. The car that was now filled with water and smelled of chlorine was pulled out with a crane. There were no major injuries which were associated with the crash.
Police detained arrested Cabral in suspicion of being under the influence of drugs and or alcohol.
