Driver Fleeing Pursuit by Deputies Crashes into Pool in Lemon Grove
LEMON GROVE, CA (June 10, 2020) – Early in the morning on Wednesday, a driver who was fleeing pursuit by deputies crashed into a backyard swimming pool in Lemon Grove. The June 10 incident occurred on Camino De Las Palmas.
The time was roughly a little before 4:00 a.m.
Reports say sheriff’s deputies received reports from 911 calls about two different vehicles in which the drivers appeared to be driving in a reckless manner. When deputies located the vehicles and attempted to stop the drivers, they fled at a fast speed.
According to reports, deputies stopped the pursuit for safety reasons. Not long after, authorities received a report of a car smashing into the backyard of a house on Camino Del Las Palmas, and falling into the swimming pool.
When they arrived at the crash site, deputies discovered the car floating in the pool. The driver was not there. Investigators are searching for the driver of the crashed vehicle. The driver has not been described.
Reports say none of the residents of the home were injured in the incident. The owners of the house have not been identified in reports.
