A 6-year-old girl and a Los Angeles Police Department officer were injured when a patrol car and three other vehicles crashed. The crash happened in Northridge.
The accident occurred about 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Tampa and Parthenia. Six people were injured in the car crash, but only the 6-year-old girl and Los Angeles Police officer were transported to the hospital.
Four other people had their injuries treated at the scene. None of the reported injuries were serious injuries, though the officer was taken to the hospital via stretcher and complained of being in a lot of pain.
The accident happened when the officer, who was injured in the crash, was driving with her lights and sirens on when she collided with a driver of black Audi, according to officials.
It wasn’t clear if the officer ran a red light at the intersection.
When the police cruiser collided with the Audi, it sent the Audi spinning and it hit two more vehicles.
No charges have been filed. The crash is still under investigation. No updates were given on the condition of the 6-year-old girl or Los Angeles Police Department officer.
