Multi-vehicle Crash at Del Amo and Paramount Boulevard Intersection in Lakewood Kills One
LAKEWOOD, CA (January 27, 2020) – A multi-vehicle crash in Lakewood on Saturday night killed one person and injured another. The January 25 incident occurred where Del Amo Boulevard and Paramount Boulevard intersect.
The time was roughly a little after 11:00 p.m., according to Lieutenant Shaw, who is with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Reports say a vehicle, which had been heading eastbound on Del Amo Boulevard at a fast speed, went through a light that was red and struck another vehicle broadside. A third vehicle was also struck in the incident.
Lieutenant Shaw is reported to have said that, according to a witness, the speeding vehicle had been traveling more than 80 miles per hour.
Responders arrived and found that one person had died at the incident site. The identity of the victim, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
Responders transproted another victim to a hospital. The types of injuries the person suffered, and current condition, is not known. The identity of the victim has not been reported.
The vehicles involved in the incident were described only as two cars, and an SUV. The driver of each vehicle has not been identified.
Investigators are working to collect details and information to understand what circumstances contributed to the crash.
