Man Killed by Hit-and-run Driver in La Puente

LA PUENTE, CA (August 27, 2020) – Ramon Reyno died after a hit-and-run driver struck him in La Puente on Monday morning. The August 24 incident occurred on Valley Boulevard, near Giano Avenue and to the west of it.

The time was roughly 9:45 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

Reyno had been walking on the sidewalk when a vehicle–described as a pickup truck–struck him. The pickup had been heading west, went over to the right and onto the sidewalk.

The driver did not stop to help Reyno, but fled the crash site.

Responders arrived and transported Reyno to Pomona Valley Medical Hospital. He died in the hospital.

Reyno was 82 years old, and a resident of Los Angeles.

Investigators are searching for the driver involved in the crash, and the vehicle. The vehicle was described as a 1990s Ford Ranger, white in color. It has a logo for a landscaping business on the doors.

The open bed of the pickup truck contained landscaping equipment. The driver has not been described.
