Driver of Suspected Stolen Vehicle Crashes into Crunch Fitness Gym in La Mirada

LA MIRADA, CA (March 19, 2019) – Early in the morning on Tuesday, a person who was behind the wheel of a suspected stolen vehicle crashed into La Mirada’s Crunch Fitness gym. The March 19 accident occurred on Valley View Avenue in the 12800 block.

The time was roughly 1:45 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Reports say that a witness—identified as Adrian Nolasco—was outdoors near the business when he saw the driver revving the engine of the car. According to Nolasco, the driver—identified as a man—headed right to the building. The car crashed into the area where the reception desk is located. According to reports, at the time of the crash, the desk was not occupied.

The vehicle broke through the wall of the gym, and left debris and wreckage. The Sheriff’s Department said the driver was found later, and authorities arrested him for possession of a stolen vehicle. The identity of the driver, including his name, age, and city of residence has not been reported.

Reports say no one was hurt in the crash, which was characterized as a hit-and-run incident. Investigators are looking through the details and information to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
